Award win for Charley
It was a pleasure for Simpson to be invited to Sainsbury’s Annual ‘Property Strategic Partner Event’ last week, where our Andy Gatenby, Russ Allerton and Charley Knight were in attendance.
The conference held in Birmingham brought together key vendors to discuss Sainsbury's long-term growth plans, featuring keynote speeches from CEO Simon Roberts and senior leaders.
The evening concluded with an Awards Ceremony, and we are delighted and immensely proud to see Charley Knight recognised with the ‘Be Human’ award. This is awarded to “the individual who exemplifies Sainsbury’s value of “be Human” by walking in the shoes of their colleagues and customers and showing care and respect to everyone”.
This award reflects Charley’s outstanding ability to deliver projects with genuine consideration for what matters most to store teams, the wider retail operation, FM, and construction colleagues. A truly well‑deserved achievement.

Donation to Clifton (York) Sea Scouts
We recently had the pleasure of helping out the Clifton (York) Sea Scouts, who reached out for assistance with repairs to the main door of their Hut. On inspection, our team decided the best solution was to replace the entire door and fit it for them, ensuring a lasting improvement.
A big thank you to our joiners shop for their craftsmanship. The Sea Scouts were delighted with the result and grateful for the support.

Speed Interviewing at York College
Our Amanda Davidson attended the York College Speed Interviewing session this week, where local employers were on hand to offer 65 construction students the opportunity to gain valuable interviewing experience.
The students were engaged, prepared and genuiely impressive. Huge credit to the college team for arranging such a well-managed and meaningful event. Its inspiring to see young people stepping confidently toward their future career.
